Young singers dominate Eid albums

October 5, 2014

Young singers dominate Eid albumsAmong around a hundred albums that await release during Eid-ul-Azha, solo albums by young artistes and mixed albums seem to take over the list. Production houses, it appears, are reluctant to spend enough to bring seasoned singers onboard. However, for music lovers, there are many options to choose from a good variety of music genres like classical, Tagore, Nazrul, modern, rock, folk, film songs and recitation. The maximum number of albums are being released by production house G Series and its sister concern Agniveena. These two houses are bringing a sweeping total of 55 albums of diverse genres that include solo productions as well as albums that feature various artistes. Some of the most anticipated releases of G Series include Milon Mahmud’s solo Ochena Shohor, Debolina Sur’s solo Jol Foring, Prince Mahmud featuring various artistes on mixed album Keya Patar Nouka, Tagore album Dharok by music troupe Dharok, mixed album Tor-e Onubhab and many others.
CD Choice has some interesting albums to offer this Eid. The production house is releasing a total of 21 albums, including a few by stalwarts in the music industry. Their releases include the likes of Subir Nandi with his solo Gaaner Sure Amay Pabe, Indian singer Haimanti Sukla’s solo Mon Aynate Mon Dekhechhi, rock band Obscure’s Obscur o’ Bangladesh, Sri Lankan singer Andrew Karanuna’s solo Nishongo Kosto, Kazi Shuvo’s solo Sadamata 3, mixed folk Premkunjo and others.
Production house Laser Vision has around 20 albums to offer. The list contains solo Nazrul Sangeet albums Aji E Kusum Har by Karim Hasan Khan, Sumon Kalyan’s solo Gaaner Kritodas, Anup Bhattyacharya’s solo Amar Harano Din, Farzan Karim’s recitation solo Putul and some other mixed and film songs albums. Besides these three major production houses, a few albums have been released by small producers and on different music portals online.
