PCB invites Malala for third England Test

July 23, 2016

The Pakistan Cricket Board on Thursday invited Malala Yousufzai for the third Test against England at Birmingham next month, hoping her presence can further inspire the Pakistan team.
The Noble Laureate lives in Birmingham after surviving a near-fatal attack by the Talibans for her campaign to get women education mandatory in 2012. She was joint Noble Prize winner with India’s Kailash Satyarthi who worked for Childrens’ Rights.
PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan said Malala has been invited for the third Test, starting from August 3, reports Cricwizz.com.
‘We have invited Malala to witness any day’s play in the Birmingham Test or be the Chief Guest at the prize distribution ceremony for the third Test,’ said Khan.
Khan also hinted new British prime minister Thressa May is likely to attend one of the five one-day internationals between Pakistan and England, most likely at Lord’s on August 27.
