India coach Ravi Shastri tests positive for Covid-19 during England Test

India head coach Ravi Shastri has tested positive for Covid-19 and is isolating alongside three other members of the backroom team.
Shastri returned a positive lateral flow test on Saturday evening, at the end of a day when India had taken control of the fourth Test against England at The Oval.
Along with Shastri, the bowling coach Bharat Arun. fielding coach R Sridhar and physiotherapist Nitin Patel have also been kept under isolation as a precautionary measure.
“They have undergone RT-PCR testing and shall remain in the team hotel and not travel with Team India until confirmation from the medical team,” said a statement from BCCI.
The rest of India’s team members have been allowed to go to the ground on the fourth day after they returned negative on two lateral flow tests.
Although England gained a 99-run lead on first innings at The Oval, India have hit back well, and hold a 171-run lead at the start of day four with seven wickets remaining.
