IU students demand to cancel summer vacation

The students of different departments of Islamic University in Kushtia on Wednesday submitted a memorandum to the university authorities to press home their demand to cancel its summer vacation scheduled to begin on June 3.
The students under the banner of IU unit of Bangladesh Chhatra Union went to the office of vice-chancellor Professor Shaikh Abdus Salam and submitted a memorandum to him in this regard in the morning.
The students, in the memorandum, said that the academic activities of the university had been slowed down due to closure for Covid outbreak.
They demanded the cancellation of the vacation from the university in order to reduce the session jam and speed up the educational activities of the university.
Bangladesh Chhatra Union IU unit general secretary Azizul Hoque Piyash, its organising secretary Mehedi Rafi and treasurer Obaidur Rahman were present.
IU vice-chancellor said that it was a logical demand of the students and a decision would be taken in this regard after discussing the matter with the university stakeholders.
