574 workers killed, 713 injured at workplaces last year
As many as 547 workers met tragic end of lives and 713 received injuries at different workplaces including garment factories, due to lack of adequate preventive measures and frequent clashes between workers and owners of the factories last year.
This was revealed at a press conference on ‘world safe workplace day 2009’ organized by Bangladesh Institute of Labour Studies (BILS) at the National Press Club yesterday.
