Amin Khan to perform in historical characterPopular Dhallywood actor Amin Khan will take on the part of Muhsinuddin Ahmad Dudu Miyan, who was one of the great leaders of Faraizi Movement, in his upcoming film titled Dudu Miyan. Khan has been paired with
actress Nawshin for this movie.
The film, directed by Dial Rahman, will portray Dudu Miyan’s contribution to the Faraizi movement founded by Haji Shariatullah. The movement was commenced by Bengali Muslims against the British colonisers.
‘I have always been eager to portray a historical character. This is a golden opportunity for any artiste,’ said Khan.
However, it is quite a challenge to realistically portray such a role. ‘Farazi movement took place in the 1830s, much much before my birth. It is indeed a challenge for me to portray a character of that era, particularly a true revolutionary hero like Dudu Miyan,’ added Khan
The actor also pointed out that there are some other limitations in making historical films.
‘At the time of Faraizi movement, there were no high rise buildings like now so when we want to film a scene, it becomes difficult to capture a horizon free from skyscrapers in the present days. Making a set or going to a remote location might be some of the solutions but these may not be cost effective for the production,’ also stated Khan, who has acted over 160 films in his 20-year career as a film actor.
However, Amin Khan is personally determined to deliver his best performance for the film. ‘I have taken much time in scrutinising and understanding the role so that I can perform remarkably. I hope that the audience will like my acting and the film,’ Khan expressed.
The shooting of the film is going on at different locations in Dhaka and surrounding areas.
