Rabirashmi celebrates founding anniversaryRabirashmi, the dedicated organisation in practicing Tagore’s songs, celebrated its 15th founding anniversary at the Shawkat Osman Auditorium of the Central Public Library on Saturday.
The programme titled Biswaye Tai Jagey Amar Gaan began with the presentation of the national anthem. Subsequently, the leaders of the troupe, namely Mahadev Ghosh, Anup Bhattacharya and Mokhles Alam, delivered speeches.
The programme began with a chorus presentation of the inspirational Tagore song Aguner paroshmoni.
Twenty five artistes of the organisation presented the timeless Tagore’s romantic songs such as Bhalobeshe sokhi nibhrito jatoney, Mone robey kina robey amar-e, Dariye achho tumi amar, Je chhilo amar swapono charini, Na chahile jaare paowa jay, Tomay gaan sonabo, Sakhi bhabona kahare bol-e and Purano sei diner katha.
An evergreen Tagore’s romantic number Bhalobeshe sokhi nibhrito jatoney rendered by Mohadev Ghosh got huge response from the audience.
Audience also enjoyed the touching presentation of another popular Tagore song Mone robey kina robey amare rendered at the programme by Swapan Chowdhury. The sentimental number Tomay gaan sonabo in Shamim Ara Begum’s melodious voice was also very entertaining.  Manjori Sarkar also entertained the audience by singing the romantic number Na chahile jaare pawa jay.
The show was dedicated in memory of the late guitarist Shankar Mandol, who also used to perform regularly in programmes organised by Rabirashmi.
