Arimdom premieres Ohom Tomosha at ChuadangaChuadanga-based theatre troupe Arindom Sansgritik Sangathan premiered its latest production Ohom Tomosha at Chuadanga District Shilpakala Academy on Friday. Written by Anan Zaman and directed by Shamim Sagor, the play depicts the broken socio-political scenario of present day Bangladesh. But the depiction is not a linear one. The play shows the darkness (tomosha) of ego (ohom) and how it clouds its own liberation. Ohom Tomosha is also an experimental play, having a fusion of traditional pala- gaan and western orchestra music as its background scores.
‘Through staging of the play, we wanted to prove that it is possible to present good plays outside the capital city,’ Shamim Sagor, director of the play informed New Age.
Sagor also added that they have received wide acclaim from the audience.
‘We are happy that we have been able to present a good production to our audience,’ added Sagor.
Arimdom artistes including Abdus Salam Soikat, Mehedi hasan, Atikuzzaman Sobuj, Ayub Khan, Bulbuli Khatun, Ashraful and others have acted in the play. Shamim Sagor has done the set design and choreography while Rony is credited for the music of the play.
