Zahab Kamal Khan, a 30-year-old Pakistani origin professional squash player residing in the USA, recently set a Guinness World Record for the ‘most hair donated by an individual.
The athlete earned the record Thursday, when her first haircut in 17 years resulted in 6 feet, 3 inches of hair donated to a charity that creates wigs for children with hair loss.
The 30-year-old made the announcement to her followers on social media, posting a picture of herself holding a long train of hair in her hand. “Most hair donated by an individual!” she wrote in the caption. “Donating 5 feet 1 inches [worth of hair] to Children With Hairloss. My dad’s idea changed my life [and] our 18-year dream finally [came] true. Today I am a Guinness World Record holder,” she said.
According to the Post, she was 13 when her father, Mustafa Kamal Khan, suggested she grow it out. For her father, long hair would make Khan stand out, and maybe earn her a Guinness World Record in the process.
Khan is already a Guinness World Record holder for ‘most hair clips on the head’. She had used 1,100 clips in her hair to set the world record earlier in August.
