Eid entertainment for childrenThe television channels have chalked out special programmes for children for Eid-holidays. Though the programme schedule is dominated mainly by drama series, films, musical programmes and talkshows, channels have arranged few programmes such as magic show, puppet show, magazine show and plays for children. One of the most talked about children’s programme on Eid is the eight-episode teleplay series titled Late Kore Sylhet-e, written by Faridur Reza Sagor and directed by Afzal Hossain, which will be aired at 6:10pm from the first day to seventh day of Eid on Channel i. Afzal Hossain, who act as Chhoto Kaku, will attempt to solve the mystery of an old, abandoned zamindar’s (feudal lord) house, which is believed to be cursed.
Maasranga TV will air four-episode special puppet show at 6.10pm from third to seventh day of Eid. Created by renowned artiste Mustafa Monwar, the show, which has been aired on the channel for last few Eids, has already received huge popularity among children.
ATN Bangla will air Eid special dance show for children Payel Baanje at 8:30pm on the first day of Eid. The channel will also air children magazine show Hashir Ghorey Eid-er Hashi, directed by Riton Adhikari Rintu, and will be aired at 10:30pm on the first day of Eid.
NTV will air children magazine programme Ananda Jharna at 5:30pm on the first day of Eid. Directed by Kazi Muhammad Mustafa, the show will feature music and dance performances by child artistes.
Magic show called Street Magic will be aired on Desh TV at 6:00pm on the second day of Eid. The programme features two magician friends—Anik and Trisha, who roam on the streets of Dhaka and shows magic to passersby.
Eid magazine show for children Eid Ananda will be aired on ETV at 9:30am from the first to sixth day of Eid. The channel will also air a programme titled Chhinno Mukul on the third day of Eid at 6:30pm, featuring street children. Produced by Manik Sikder, the programme will show the life struggles of street children.
Popular puppet show Sisimpur will be aired on RTV at 10:30am on the first to seventh days of Eid. Sisimpur and its characters like Halum, Ikri Mukri, Shiku, Tuktuki are already quite popular among children.
Six episode teleplay series for children Lal Botum will be aired on Eid days on SATV at 4:30pm. Written by Rubel Sankar and directed by Yakub Ali Mithu, the play features a group of child detectives who capture a gang of human traffickers.
